Sözlerini John Lennon'ın yazdığı, John Lennon ve Paul Mccartney tarafından bestelenen"Dear Prudence" adlı şarkı The Beatles'ın 1968 yılında çıkarttığı "The Beatles" isimli iki disk olarak yayınlanan albümde yayınlanmıştır. Albüm kapağında grup isminin dışında hiç bir şey olmaması nedeni ile "The White Album" adıylada bilinen bu albüm The Beatles'ın müzikal anlamda zirveye ulaştıkları bir albümdür. Rolling Stones dergisi bu albümü "Bir çatı altında dört solo albüm" diye tanımlamıştır.

"The Beatles" diğer adıyla "The White Album" grup üyelerinin kendine has müzikal zevlerini ve yeteneklerini rahatlıkla yansıtabildiği bir albüm olmuştur.
